Join us on Sunday, October 4th at 2:30 PM in the Riverside Visitors Center for a talk by Chuck Parrish on the history of the United States Life Saving Service at Louisville, based on the book he co-authored and edited, entitled Heroes at the Falls: Louisville Lifesavers.
From 1880 to 1915, the life saving crew based at Louisville’s Station #10 courageously performed dangerous rescues at the treacherous Falls of the Ohio. The crew had the distinction of serving aboard the only Federal life saving station on the inland waterways of America. Mr. Parrish, a retired historian with the Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, will share their stories — and images — during this free presentation.
The event is free, but space is limited so RSVPs are encouraged. Call 502/935-6809 to reserve your seating.
