100 Years On the Ohio ~ Saturday, September 18, 2010
Experience this living timeline of Louisville's first century. Over 100 re-enactors will demonstrate the crafts, clothing, weaponry and food of each period from 1765-1865. "100 Years on the Ohio" will be held on Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 19 from 10 am to 5 pm both days.
This event is held in partnership with the Falls Landing Foundation. Admission is $6/Adults; $5/Seniors (60+); $3/Children (ages 6-12). $15/Family Rate (2 adults with up to 3 children). Admission includes a tour of the Farnsley-Moremen House. Call us at 502/935-6809 for more information.

Join us for talk on "Riverside Before the Farnsleys and the Moremens" on Sunday, September 26 at 2:00 PM in the Visitors Center. Learn about the early history of the Riverside property--including the story of the murder of Ebenezer Christopher (first owner of the land before the Farnsley-Moremen House was built)! Local historian David Baker will focus on Riverside, but he will also paint a picture of early life in the area. This event is FREE, but reservations are recommended. Call 935-6809.

On Thursday, October 7 at 7:00 PM, Rick Bell, author of "The Great Flood of 1937," will present a slide show and talk about the impact this devastating event had on southwest Louisville. Take part in this unique tour of the Farnsley-Moremen House on Sunday, October 10th at 2:00 PM (begin at the Visitors Center). Take a special guided tour with Frank Webster (Webster's Clock Works) and hear the history of the site -- with a special emphasis on the antique clocks in the house. Building Blocks of History Field Trips (September-October and mid-March-May)
Riversides award-winning, hands-on field trip program Building Blocks of
History includes:
- a tour of the historic Farnsley-Moremen House (built circa 1837)
- participation in an on-going archaeological dig under the supervision of professional archaeologists
- an opportunity for students to make their own "artifact" of their experience at Riverside by making a hand-made brick
This full-day field trip experience is limited to groups of 120 students per day.
